Final Four – Video

Challenge
After a successful 2013 Final Four hosted by Atlanta, the organizing committee knew the next round of bids would soon be released in 2014 to host years 2017 – 2020. Because the NCAA had just visited Atlanta, the organizing committee was unsure how to make the city seem different and even more attractive for its bid. The committee turned to communications 21 to support the bid by developing the presentation, support graphics and videos.

Solution
c21 worked on the bid in 2008 that won the 75th anniversary of the Final Four in 2013, but knew this bid would need to be attention-grabbing as other cities who had not hosted in some time were hungry to attract the tournament. In addition, since the yet-to-be-completed Atlanta Falcons Stadium would be the host venue versus the Georgia Dome the NCAA was familiar with, the information needed to calm concerns over a new venue, as well as be clear, compelling and separate Atlanta from the pack.
c21 created a short 90-second video that was literally from the fan’s perspective, quickly illustrating all the changes that had taken place in only a year from their last visit, including The College Football Hall of Fame, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, the SkyView ferris wheel, the new stadium and more.

Results
The City of Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center and the new Atlanta Falcons Stadium were awarded the 2020 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
