communications 21® Selected As Agency of Record for the Hull McKnight Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center in Augusta

ATLANTA – August 17, 2017 – As communications 21 (c21®) celebrates its 25th year as a full-service marketing, public relations and interactive firm, the company today announced its selection as the agency of record for the $60 million Hull McKnight Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center being developed by Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) near Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.

GTA manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 85 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to 1,300 state and local government entities, and is responsible for developing the Georgia Cyber Center, which is the nation’s single largest investment in a cybersecurity facility to date.

According to the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, Georgia ranks sixth in the nation for cyber-crime and by 2022, there will be a shortage of 1.8 million information security workers. The Hull McKnight Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center will be a state-owned facility designed to promote modernization in cybersecurity technology for private and public industries through unique education, training, research and practical applications. It also will serve as an incubator for start-up cybersecurity companies.

Expected to open in July 2018, the center will be housed in a 167,000-square-foot facility, and is only eight miles from Fort Gordon, which will be home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command, the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and the National Security Agency.

“We are honored to have been selected by Georgia Technology Authority to work on such a significant and high profile project as the Georgia Cyber Center. Our 25 years of real estate and technology marketing expertise made us uniquely qualified for this project, and we look forward to working with GTA’s communication experts to position Georgia as a leader in cybersecurity,” said Sharon Goldmacher, president and CEO – c21.

c21 will provide marketing, PR and interactive services to increase national awareness for the Georgia Cyber Center and its focus on research and workforce development.
