Vice President, Interactive Services
Marlena Reed has 15 years of diverse marketing communications experience on both the agency and client sides of the business. She has successfully managed public relations, marketing and social media initiatives for organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. A truly multifaceted communicator, Marlena's work has earned accolades from the American Marketing Association, the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America for business to consumer and business to business campaigns.
As leader of the c21i interactive practice group, Marlena guides clients' digital marketing strategies and implementation. She also educates clients in social media, e-mail marketing, pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization and analytics to help them discover which tactics will be the most effective to achieve their particular goals and objectives. She also speaks about social media marketing at conferences across the country.
Previously, Marlena was a Corporate Communications Manager at the American Cancer Society, the nation's leading voluntary health agency, where she was a member of the national Corporate Communications department in Atlanta. In that role she managed internal and external communications for several of the organization's nationwide public health awareness campaigns, including the Great American Smokeout®. Reed began her public relations career at a boutique agency in San Diego, where she managed national and local public relations for well-known brands, including Dave & Busters, House of Blues and Sprint PCS.
Outside of the office, Marlena can be found pursuing her dual passions: yoga and cooking. She is a certified hatha yoga instructor and teaches whenever possible. While her training in cooking is quite informal, it includes several years of learning from the person she considers the world's best chef - her mother.
A member of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association, Marlena earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Arizona State University.
