c21e Raises Awareness of
the Southeast's First Zero Waste Zone

Did you know that 82 percent of the materials disposed of in landfills
are recoverable products, such as paper, organics and plastics?
c21 knows the importance of protecting our environment, as evidenced by the firm’s environmentally-focused practice area, c21ec21e helps clients highlight and capitalize on their green initiatives.  The most recent green marketing project c21e tackled was the launch of the Southeast’s first Zero Waste Zone, designed to
decrease the amount of waste going to landfills to zero.

The Green Foodservice Alliance and Atlanta Recycles, developers of the Zero Waste Zone – Downtown Atlanta, approached c21e to help announce the program during the Meeting Planner International (MPI) conference at the GWCC.  Zero Waste Zone participants pledge to recycle, reuse spent grease for the local production of biofuel, and compost or donate food residuals to drastically decrease the amount of waste going to landfills.  Phase I of the program will focus on Atlanta’s downtown convention district, with 10 signed participants including the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), the Hyatt Regency and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.

c21e’s media relations efforts surrounding the press conference announcement resulted in three media attendees at the event, and nearly 40 online placements.  c21’s efforts helped position Atlanta as a national leader in recycling initiatives and further solidified the city’s commitment to preserving the environment.
