New Client

c21
is starting off the new year in style with the addition of Cousins Properties’ The Avenue® to the client roster. The Avenue is an outdoor lifestyle shopping center concept, with five metro Atlanta locations and additional locations in Memphis and Nashville, Tenn., and Viera, Fla. c21 will provide integrated marketing public relations services including media relations, direct marketing and social media initiatives for The Avenue properties.  Click here to learn about the Facebook Affordable Luxuries promotion we created to build their fan base in just three weeks.

The acquisition of The Avenue as a new client is one of many professional developments among the c21 staff. Several team members have individual accomplishments to celebrate as a result of their active involvement in professional organizations and community initiatives.

Promotion

Marlena Reed has been promoted to vice president of interactive services. In her new role, Marlena will lead the c21i interactive practice group, which is dedicated to the strategic development, implementation and measurement of interactive marketing strategies for clients.

Outside the Office

c21 President Sharon Goldmacher has been appointed to the Atlanta Convention & Visitors’ Bureau (ACVB) board for 2009-2010. Goldmacher first became involved with the ACVB during her role as the marketing and PR chair for the 2007 NCAA® Men’s Final Four®, and she recently worked alongside the Atlanta Local Organizing Committee to secure Atlanta as the
site of the 2013 Men’s Final Four®.


Elyse Hammett is one of four practitioners who teach APR (Accredited in Public Relations) classes for PRSA. Hammett, who earned her accreditation in 2002, serves as a co-chair of the APR accreditation committee, which serves to administer readiness reviews for APR candidates upon completion of their coursework.  This year’s class has a record 41 applicants.
 

Ruth Mitcham currently serves as co-chair of the membership committee for Club Blue, an organization comprised of young professionals dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. She assists the organization by developing and executing plans to retain current members, managing new member drives and conducting orientation sessions for new members. 

Jessica Covello, a board member of the Atlanta chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), served as the moderator for the AMA Young Professionals panel on “Defining Your Career Path” on February 10. The roundtable discussion provided insight into the various aspects of careers in the nonprofit, corporate and agency sectors.
