Rich Media Survey Results

In our last issue, we asked you about rich media – including blogs, mp3s and podcasts – and your answers showed that rich media has become a significant part of day-to-day life.

Mp3 files were the most popular download, with more than 75 percent of respondents downloading one in the past 60 days.  As you could likely guess, when people want to download rich media, they turn to iTunes, which ranked as the most popular site for obtaining all types of rich media in our survey.

Our survey also showed that people are using rich media for both work and play – 20 percent said they consume rich media for work, 30 percent indicated personal use and 50 percent said they used it in both arenas.  Whether for work or play, most respondents can get their rich media on the go since more than 60 percent said they owned an iPod or other mp3 player.

What does this mean?  Rich media is not just for entertainment.  With so many people accessing it for work purposes, rich media can be a highly effective marketing tool.  If you’re interested in learning how rich media can work for you, contact us.

For our next survey, we want to find out even more about your use of technology, albeit a slightly more traditional format – television.  We want to hear from you about what television shows you are most looking forward to this season.  Are you addicted to Grey’s Anatomy? Are you obsessive compulsive about watching Monk?  Click here to tell us.
