Insights: The Buzz Around the c21 Office
This spring is a busy one for c21. Speaking engagements, volunteering and exciting new projects ensure there is never a dull moment.
Out and About
On May 8, Jessica Covello, Carol Rich and Reneé Spurlin enlightened members of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) on conducting effective marketing campaigns on a shoestring budget. Using Oldcastle Architectural’s Ugliest Patio Makeover Contest, the 2007 Men’s Final Four in Atlanta and Centex Home's Butterfly Garden as examples, c21 showed that remarkable service and real results can be obtained with virtually any budget.
The next week, Sharon Goldmacher and Reneé Spurlin presented The Role of E-mail in an Integrated Campaign at Silverpop’s national annual e-mail marketing conference. Sharon and Reneé discussed the significant results achieved when traditional and new media marketing are strategically executed, and used the Ugliest Patio Contest and University House’s renewal campaign as examples.
Volunteering
c21 and its employees also have been actively engaged with our industry associations this spring. Jessica Covello was recently appointed to the board of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA). She previously served on AMA’s collegiate committee, and will now lead the Young Professionals committee, which brings networking and educational opportunities to Atlanta’s young professionals.
Elyse Hammett is concluding her first year as the co-chair of PRSA’s APR Education Committee. Her committee’s goal is to mentor at least 15 public relations professionals through the accreditation process each year.
Ruth Mitcham was reappointed as head of the development committee for PRSA’s Real World Conference, which draws more than 200 college students from across the nation. This will be her second year in this role. For the 2008 event in March, she secured $13,000 in sponsorships.
As a company, c21 gave back to its Inman Park community by volunteering time for the Inman Park Festival, which celebrates all of the cultural offerings of the neighborhood.
New Stuff
c21 also has been working on exciting projects for new and current clients:
- Emory Healthcare Facial Surgery Center, which specializes in surgical and non-surgical facial enhancement, enlisted c21 to enhance its Web site, implement search engine optimization and pay-per-click campaigns, secure speaking engagements and more.
- The Southeast Dairy Association recently embarked on a 50 market media tour. c21 secured 110 interviews with SUDIA’s registered dieticians about how the presidential candidates stay healthy on the campaign trail and common nutrition myths. This article in the Raleigh News & Observer has been picked up in newspapers across the country.
- c21 garnered placements in Prevention magazine and on iVillage.com for the Arthritis Foundation’s Exercise Program Study. The study, published in Arthritis Care and Research, proved that regular movement can decrease arthritis pain.
