Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta
Explores Its Curiosity on Facebook

Curious GeorgeWhen Atlanta's premier children's museum, Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta, decided to test social media marketing, they called on c21's team of experts. Together the team set the goal of growing the number of fans on the existing Facebook page from 300 to 1,000, and decided to use the upcoming exhibit, Curious George: Let's Get Curious, as a focal point. To accomplish the goal, c21 and the Museum's team created a six-week series of Facebook contests that would award family packs of four passes to the Museum each week, and a grand prize of a one-year membership to the Museum and passes for four to the nearby Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke.

Imagine It!c21 developed weekly contests, which included Curious George trivia and invitations for fans to post photos of their favorite Curious George memorabilia, ways their kids are curious and forts their kids constructed on a rainy day (an activity children enjoyed as a part of the Curious George exhibit). The Museum posted the week's question each Monday, while c21 monitored and captured images of the page to track entries and facilitate selection of the weekly winner. When the weekly contests concluded, c21 compiled the names of all eligible fans and sourced a random number selector for the Museum to select the grand prize winner.

In addition, c21 secured coverage of the contest on blogs and online event listings that drove traffic to the Facebook page and grew the number of fans. To promote the contest, c21 targeted key mommy bloggers in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast, providing them with details to use on their sites.

As a result of the team's work, the Facebook contest garnered more than 17 million impressions on more than 35 blogs and online event listings. Most importantly, the Museum achieved its goal by the end of the contest and welcomed more than 700 new fans – for a total of 1,002 fans.

"c21 truly helped Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta build a viable presence on Facebook.
